The lodge is located in a remote and beautiful setting, surrounded by nature and away from the crowds. Philippe and Andre, the hosts, were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. We loved the guided hike to the local waterfall and my daughters had a blast swimming in the refreshing stream with the rope swing. the lodge also offers a boat pickup from a neighboring town, which was a spectacular and unique experience. it was a relaxing and nature-filled getaway that we highly recommend. Cons: Liked everything! 😊.

What a wonderful remote place it is. The perfect getaway for a couple of nights. The natural pool is just amazing and the surroundings spectacular. Parrots and monkeys are hanging out in the vast garden and if you're lucky you can even spot a croc. The lovely team makes your stay perfect. They're really looking so well after their guests and for those who are traveling by public transport they offer pick-up service too. And if you want to visit the Corcovado NP they organize a tour for you too! Really worth it!
Can recommend this hotel.

The location of the lodge was absolutely stunning, with beautiful lawns, forests, and a river with a swimming hole. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, arranging daily activities such as visiting waterfalls and going on wildlife tours. The breakfasts included in the stay were excellent, using fresh local produce. Additionally, the lodge offered a variety of activities, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the natural surroundings.
The lack of air conditioning and hot showers, as mentioned in the description. However, the cool showers were refreshing in the warm weather and the evenings were cool enough for comfortable sleep with just a fan.

Wow! What a fantastic place!! A beautiful lodge lost in the middle of the rainforest on an amazing property! We spent 4 nights at Sabalo Lodge and loved every minute of it. The owner, Andre, is super friendly and accommodating, and very easy to talk with. He will do everything he can to make your stay fun and enjoyable. The cabins are scattered around the large propriety, so lots of privacy. We love our cabin! It was clean, comfortable and large enough for our family of 4. No air conditioning but this was not a problem at all; the cabin was well ventilated with mesh windows. Cold water shower, which was so nice and refreshing. The wifi was strong and reliable. The road to get to Sabalo Lodge is an adventure, including a river crossing! If you want to have a true adventure in the rainforest, we highly recommend Sabalo Lodge! You need more than one night to truly enjoy this beautiful place. We had an amazing 5 days and our time at Sabalo Lodge was one of the highlights of our 5 weeks trip in Costa Rica!!!
Can't recommend highly enough this hotel.
